NTX Technology
NTX is a patented process for infusing spirits with a hepatoprotective blend of generally recognized as safe (GRAS) ingredients. The process patent was issued to Chigurupati Technologies in May 2015,〔() http://patents.justia.com/assignee/chigurupati-technologies-private-limited〕 and the patent was published in October 2015. The exact effects of NTX are hard to discuss because the US Federal regulations do not allow health claims relating to alcoholic beverages.〔() https://cei.org/blog/drinking-dark〕 The patent describes a method that reduces the liver toxicity of alcoholic beverages by infusing them with a proprietary mix of several substances that are widely used in foods, among them a licorice-root derivative (Glycyrrhizin) and a sugar alcohol.〔
